watercolour - fast & loose

Learn from the experts how to loosen up in your
watercolour painting!

Are your watercolor paintings stiff and lifeless? Do they suffer from too much detail? Do you want to loosen up and make exciting pictures? Then this short course is for you!

In this unique 7 part course I’ll teach you how to paint in a fast, loose and free style. Each weekly part of the course is based on the style and methods of a particular master of watercolour impressionism. From these great artists you will learn how to paint in a loose and free style. The course will be most suitable for those who already paint in watercolors but is really for anyone who just wants to loosen up.

The 7 parts of the course look at the work of Frank Webb, Edward Seago, John Yardley, Claude Croney, Jack Merriott, Tony Couch, and Edward Wesson.

Topics covered include
Colour Harmony :
hold a painting together with a pale
                                 background wash
Absolute Minimalism : cut out all but the bare essentials
A Box of Tricks: use every tool at your disposal
Big Shapes-Small Details :  paint the big shapes first, then add
                                          details
Fast Foliage : create distinctive foliage with just a few marks
Strong Contrasts : place dark against light for powerful pictures
Make the Ordinary Extraordinary :  transform any scene into a
                              spectacular painting
No other online course will teach you how to paint like this!

How does it work

It’s a bit like getting a magazine. When you sign up for the course you will receive 7 emails, one a week. Each email links to a lesson, where you will find

an audio introduction to the lessonaudio introduction to each lesson

pages of instructionspages of clear instructions to print off and keep

video clips to show you exactly how it’s donevideo clips

Just listen to the audio, print off the pages, watch the video and follow along. The important thing is to actually do the projects in each lesson. The course is very practical and you will learn by doing.

Keeping Motivated
Because the course comes to you in 7 weekly parts, you will find yourself wanting to paint along with each lesson and the excitement of learning will be kept up. I can guarantee you will learn to paint in a new way with these regular lessons!

Take your Time
Finally, you can take the course at your own pace. You don’t have to keep up, or you can choose to go faster! To take the course at a slower pace just save the links and download the lessons whenever you like , or if you want to go quicker, then email me and I’ll send you the complete list of links so you can access the course at your own speed. Each weekly lesson takes about 2 hours to complete.

What will I learn?
By the end of the course you will have experienced painting in a whole range of new ways, using different methods and techniques. You will have learned to see the landscape in a fresh way and to be able to interpret it in a fast and loose painting. I’m sure that your paintings will never be the same again!

I also used a few large round and small round brushes, a couple of flats and a rigger. My paper is usually Bockingford 140lb.
