how it works

All my courses work in the same way.

When you sign up you will begin to receive emails on a regular basis, a bit like getting a magazine. Each email links to a lesson, where you will find

  • an audio introduction to the lesson
  • pages of clear instructions to print off and keep
  • video clips to show you exactly how it’s done

Just listen to the audio, print off the pages, watch the video and follow along. Each lesson builds on the one before, so you grow in confidence as you go along, and you will soon be amazed at how fast you are learning.
The important thing is to actually do the projects. The courses are very practical and you will learn by doing.

Because the course comes to you in regular instalments, you will find yourself wanting to paint along with each lesson and the excitement of learning will be kept up. I can guarantee you will learn to paint with these regular lessons! And if you get stuck, you can even email me at any time with problems or questions.

Finally, you can take the courses at your own pace. You don’t have to keep up, or you can choose to go faster! To take the course at a slower pace just save the links and download the lessons whenever you like , or if you want to go quicker, then email me and I’ll send you the complete list of links so you can access the course at your own speed.

How do I choose which course to take?
All the courses start off with beginners in mind, but they cover a lot of ground and so are equally applicable if you already paint and just want to learn more. Here’s a summary of what is in each course so you can compare them.

This 16 part course will show you how to master drawing. I’ll show you how to accurately draw what you see in front of you, and there are plenty of projects to help you expand your creative side as well. The course teaches how to use charcoal, pens and brushes as well as the humble pencil, and covers a whole variety of subjects.
The drawing course is a much expanded version of the drawing section of the watercolour course, so even if you have done that course there is much more to learn here.

I am learning so much from the videos and lessons. I now find myself looking at the world with different eyes and knowing just
how I would be able to paint some view that catches my fancy. It’s opened up my creative possibilities. I just wanted you to
know that you are succeeding in helping me to be a watercolorist. Phyllis Biondolillo USA

When I started the course I sent you an email saying that I hoped your course will both give me the incentive I need and teach
me things I’ve either forgotten or never knew. Well, it’s done exactly that, many thanks. Your course has given me my
confidence back. In the past my paintings were almost exclusively landscapes but I was scared of including people and
animals. No longer. Also I would never have really considered flower painting. Yet now, thanks to you, I’m enjoying it.
  Robin Guenier

I have greatly enjoyed your watercolour course and I am so sorry I am coming to the end. The lessons you have taught were
very helpful. I like the way you covered such a wide variety of subjects. The thing I found most useful were the video clips of the
different techniques. I have many books on watercolour painting but I wasn’t able to reproduce the techniques until I actually
saw in the videos how it was done. Brenda Scott UK

I am thoroughly enjoying the course, and though there are a lot of things I have done before, nevertheless, they are described in
such a way that they become easier. I also like your explanations of what might have gone wrong, and I have learned more from
that than I could have been taught in a 100 books. The course is also interesting, which helps motivation hugely.
  Gail Seery, USA
